Privacy Policy

Gridsum ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information is collected when you use the Gridsum mobile app and how it is used.

1. Information We Collect
Anonymous identifier. When you first launch Gridsum, the app generates a random UUID on your device. This identifier is anonymous — it contains no personal information and cannot be used to identify you. It is used solely to associate your game progress with leaderboard scores.

Leaderboard scores. Your game statistics (stars earned, speed records, perfect-solve count, and highest level reached) are synced to our backend (Supabase) using your anonymous UUID. No name, email, or account is required.

Display name (optional). If you choose to set a display name for the leaderboard, that name is stored on our servers alongside your anonymous UUID. You are not required to use your real name.

No account required. Gridsum does not require you to create an account or provide any personal information to play.

2. Advertising
Gridsum uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve relevant ads. You can learn more about Google's data practices at policies.google.com/privacy.

Purchasing the "Remove Ads" in-app purchase permanently disables all advertising within the app.

3. How We Use Your Information
We use your anonymous UUID and scores only to power the in-game leaderboard feature. We do not sell, trade, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Data Storage
Game progress (completed levels, best times, settings) is stored locally on your device using SQLite. Leaderboard data is stored on Supabase servers.

5. Resetting Your Data
You can delete all local progress at any time from Settings → Reset all progress within the app. To request deletion of your leaderboard data from our servers, contact us at tylewis1499@gmail.com with your anonymous UUID (visible in the app under Settings).

6. Children's Privacy
Gridsum is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this URL with an updated date.
